Smoking/drug cessation using NLP and clinical hypnotherapy
The day you give up smoking will be one of the most significant decisions you make as your life will be longer and better quality.
It is with our bodies that we enjoy good things in life, and it seems absurd that we would treat it with such little respect as to poison it through smoking. Every cigarette you smoke will rob you of up to 6 minutes of your life. You will likely die a painful death from a smoking related disease and your quality of life from the moment you begin smoking lessens.
When you started smoking, your subconscious mind warned you of its dangers with plenty of signals such as coughing, nausea, dizziness. Ignoring these signals and persevering with cigarettes fooled your subconscious into thinking the new noxious chemicals of a cigarette were necessary for survival. As a consequence of the subconscious keeping within its function of protecting you, it sent messages for replenishment whenever the nicotine level dropped and nicotine addiction began.
Your body reacts to smoking as it would to danger and the ‘fight and flight’ response is activated. When this occurs, adrenaline is produced along with lactic acid to increase the muscles ability to run or fight the ‘danger’. However, when we continue to smoke there is no opportunity for the body to ‘fight’ or ‘run’ thus the body remains on alert, the stress is constant, and the chemicals produced in the fight/flight response remain in the body as toxins. As a result, smokers feel a constant low level stress.
When you smoke you introduce in excess of 40,000 chemicals into your body. The most common include tar, cyanide, carbon monoxide, prussic acid, ammonia and chemical fertilisers. Your heart beats faster, oxygen to the brain and vital organs is depleted, fertility drops, blood pressure increases, it can effect the DNA within the sperm of males and the quality of a female’s eggs. It also effects concentration, stamina and the ability to relax.
A lot of you will feel guilty for smoking, perhaps doing it in secret/out of sight as it becomes more socially unacceptable. You may also be worried about the smell of tobacco and the anti social effect it has on your breath, hair and clothes. If not, you have to be concerned about your health. No longer appearing cool and sophisticated, smokers now project a weak, unattractive, unhealthy image, lacking in will power and stamina.
I have developed a smoking cessation programme over 10 years which takes 2 hours and combines NLP and clinical hypnosis.
